I am passionate about assisting curators, educators, community, scholars, and students to create exhibitions that spark ethical engagement with communities and artefacts as well as compassion, and curiosity.
My tools are research, critique, collaboration, and creative experimentation.
I have practiced critical museology for over two decades, as a researcher, writer, teacher, and consultant. In my work in Canada and South Africa, I’ve seen how museums can both harm and support communities.
I am part of an international network of museum professionals, scholars, students, and community representatives who are collaborating to find new ways to exhibit and redress historical and contemporary forms of exclusion and marginalisation.
Mentoring and creating opportunities for next generation museum practitioners and scholars is a priority in my practice.
I also teach yoga to support individual and community well-being and equanimity, including in museum, workshop, and conference settings.
